Aaron began his career with the British Columbia government in 1995 performing multiple roles involving compliance and enforcement, human resources, and recreation management. Aaron joined the BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) in 2009 as Inspector (Regional Manager), Kootenay Region located in the Southeast geographic area of British Columbia. This area has a high number of annual human/wildlife conflicts which means that Aaron has been involved in providing general management oversight to many predator attack responses over the years.
In 2014 Aaron promoted to Deputy Chief Conservation Officer, Program Support, responsible for BCCOS policy governance, training and development, and human/wildlife conflict educational programs. Aaron believes strongly in the investment of training and sharing of knowledge and looks forward to continuously learning from other officers and wildlife professionals.
Away from work Aaron spends his time with his fiancé and 3 step-boys hanging out in hockey arenas and the outdoors. Aaron has a passion for hunting, fishing, and mountain biking to stay fit now that he spends considerably more time at work behind a computer than in the field.
