Mike Ewald has been a Fish and Wildlife Officer in Alberta for over 25 years. He is one of four Regional Problem Wildlife Specialists (RPWS) in the province and has been a Predator Response Team Leader (PRTL) for about 15 years. The PRTL leads all investigations on animal attacks on people and leads a team of officers whenever a grizzly bear has to be captured and processed. Mike has been involved in training other officers and seasonal staff in resolving human/wildlife conflicts for over 20 years. During the past 5 years, Mike has assisted with the delivery of the Human Wildlife Conflict Course that is taught to all the new recruit officers attending the Western Canadian Law Enforcement Academy. He also assisted with the 2014 WHART delivery in the Yukon Territory.
Mike spends his time away from work hobby farming, hunting, and fishing with his wife and five children. He and his family have raised numerous wildlife species; ranging from golden eagles, to moose to wolves.
